The #1 Question: How much will it cost to clean my home?

Services
What is the difference between a maintenance and a deep cleaning visit?
The key difference is time and detail! During a deep clean, our team spends extra time removing soap scum, grease buildup, and those often-missed areas. It also includes wet washing of baseboards, window sills, and cabinets. It’s a top-to-bottom refresh for your home. Want more details? Learn More!
Pets
What should we do with our pets during house cleaning visits?
All of our technicians are pet friendly. As long as your furry family member is okay with people being in the home, their usual routine is okay.
Products
What cleaning supplies do you use? Do I need to provide anything?
We provide all of the necessary supplies, all you need to provide is the space to clean! We use all-natural cleaning solutions, which are safe for wood, granite, tile, and most other surfaces. For liability reasons, our technicians are not allowed to use any products they did not bring with them into the home.
Will you use my cleaning supplies and equipment?
No. We will provide everything necessary to clean your home from top to bottom. We also bring all the sanitized tools, laundered cleaning cloths and mops, and 4-stage HEPA filtration vacuums. We bring everything needed to clean your home green from top to bottom. We cannot use any other cleaning chemicals or solutions than those we provide for safety and liability reasons. We can use your vacuum upon request if you waive liability for damage to the vacuum or to your home from its use.
Procedure
Do I have to be home when you clean?
Nope! You don’t need to be home while we clean. We’re fully licensed, bonded, and insured, and all of our team members pass thorough background checks for your peace of mind. So go ahead and enjoy your time while we handle the cleaning!
How long will it take to clean my home?
The timing of your cleaning depends on multiple factors, such as the square footage of your home and how frequently you are having your home cleaned. For example, monthly cleanings would take longer than weekly cleanings, since there is a longer amount of time between visits.
Will my appointment always be on the same day and time?
Your service day will stay the same unless you request to change it. Our service operates on a weekly, every two-week, or every four-week frequency. So, for example, if you book an every four-week cleaning starting on Tuesday the 11th, your cleaning day will be Tuesday and will be every four weeks from the 11th. As for the time of your cleaning, we have two main arrival windows. Our first appointment of the day has an arrival window between 8:30-9:30 and is an additional $25 to guarantee that time. Our second appointment has an arrival window of 10-2 and really depends on when your technician finishes their first appointment. We can note your preferences as far as your time, but the only guaranteed time we can provide is the first appointments of the day.
Will I always have the same house cleaning technician?
If you have a technician that you really like, let us know! We can set them as your preferred technician and will do our absolute best to ensure you are scheduled with them. The more frequent your service, the more consistently you will see the same technician. If you have weekly service you will see the same technician on 80% or more of your visits, with less frequent visits. Maintaining your schedule and not skipping or moving days is also important to provide you with a consistent cleaning technician. We use technology to match your preferences and try to give you the same technicians consistently. However, our techs will have up to 17 paid days off per year so they can rest and recharge.
What if I need to reschedule a house cleaning visit?
That’s not a problem. If you need to reschedule your cleaning, we ask that you please reach out to us by call, text, or email and we would be happy to get you rescheduled! You will get your first reminder of your cleaning visit up to a week in advance. Please let us know as soon as possible.
How often should I have my home cleaned?
Our happiest customers have their homes cleaned at least every two weeks so they don’t have to do any maintenance cleaning in-between visits. We offer service frequency of every week, every two weeks, and every four weeks. For most homes, we recommend an every two-week schedule and to start with a deep clean add-on to the first visit.
How do I prepare for a cleaning visit?
The best way to prepare for your upcoming cleaning would be to put away or contain any general clutter. For example, if you have a pile of clothes on the floor, we ask that you put them into a clothes basket so our technicians can move it around and clean the floor beneath. Any un-contained clutter will be cleaned around to the best of our ability. The more clear and unobstructed the surfaces are, the more we can clean.

What types of payment do you accept for house cleaning services?

Tips are never expected but always appreciated. After your cleaning visit you will be asked to rate your cleaning and have the opportunity to provide a tip if they did an outstanding job for you.
Pre-Authorization
What is the new pre-authorization process?
Starting November 24, 2024, we will pre-authorize your credit or debit card at noon the day before your scheduled cleaning service.
How does this affect my service?
There is no impact on your cleaning service. You’ll simply notice the pre-authorization hold on your account starting the day before service.
Do I need to do anything because of this change in billing?
No action is required on your part. This pre-authorization is a minor update to our billing process.
What if my card cannot be pre-authorized?
If the pre-authorization does not go through, our office will reach out using your contact information on file. If we’re unable to update your payment information, we may need to skip your scheduled cleaning.
Why is Better Life Maids making this change?
This small adjustment helps us keep our scheduling more predictable, ensuring timely service for all our clients.
Is the pre-authorization a charge? When will I be actually charged for the service?
The pre-authorization is not an actual charge but a temporary hold to ensure funds are available. The actual charge will be processed after your cleaning service is completed.
What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule my service after the pre-authorization?
If you cancel or reschedule before the service, the pre-authorization hold will be released according to your bank’s policies, typically within a few business days.
Will there be any additional fees or charges because of this change?
No, there are no additional fees or charges associated with this update. It’s simply a minor adjustment in the timing of the pre-authorization.
Contracts
Do I need to sign a contract for house cleaning services?
