Cleaning a kitchen efficiently and thoroughly is an important step in cleaning for health and safety. <br><br>The following personal protective equipment (PPE) should be available<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Disposable Gloves &#8211; required<\/li><li>Mask &#8211; required<\/li><li>Eye protection &#8211; recommended<\/li><li>Shoe covers &#8211;  recommended if safe for the surface you are working on<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Gather the following supplies:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Red Heavy Duty Sanitizer and Virucide<\/li><li>Green Light Duty Sanitizer<\/li><li>Blue Disinfectant<\/li><li>Better Life &#8211; Surface Safe Abrasive Cleaner<\/li><li>Detailing Brush<\/li><li>High Duster<\/li><li>Cleaning Cloths<\/li><li>Plastic Cup<\/li><li>Eraser Sponge<\/li><li>Plastic Scraper<\/li><li>Plastic bags (for used cloths, and to reline the waste cans)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The first step is to hight dust all surfaces. After that, you will collect the trash. Pull all small rugs and towels as necessary to clean all surfaces completely. <br><br>Always start by applying your heavy-duty cleaner to all the critical and high touch surfaces marked in red. You will spray directly on the sinks, counters, and fixtures, and use a very wet cloth to apply to door handles, pulls, and light switches, chairs, and tables. You can spray and wipe green surfaces marked in green. Your red heavy-duty cleaner is an EPA certified sanitizer and virucide, you need to make sure to leave it on surfaces for up to 5 minutes.<br><br>You should always start cleaning at the sink and move to the right in a circle around the room. The pattern is top to bottom, left to right. Always finishing where you started in any room. Start above the sink by cleaning any cabinetry or surfaces that are present. You may apply the Better Life non-scratch abrasive as necessary in the sink. Make sure to remove all spots, rust stains, and work all the way to the drains. You may need an eraser sponge for stuck-on stains, but be careful as it can dull metal if you do not work with the grain.<br><br>Continue to work left to right around the kitchen. The oven requires that you open it and clean the interior of the glass to remove any stuck-on grease and food. Apply your heavy-duty cleaner and return as necessary after it has time to set in. <br><br>If the microwave has a lot of baked-on food residue you can fill one of your plastic cups halfway with water and run it for up to 2 minutes. Carefully remove the cup and pour the water down the sink. The steam should have loosened most of the particles and now you can spray and wipe them to remove them easily. <br><br>When working with stainless steel you should always clean along the grain of the metal. If you clean in a circular pattern or against the grain you will leave noticeable streaks. This is especially apparent on fridges and dishwashers. Another tip for the fridge is to open the door and clean the seals with a wet cloth. You also want to clean all the way to the bottom of the fridge and make sure the vents on the front are clean and clear. <br><br>Tips on using microfiber. You should fold the cloth to clean surfaces completely. A bunched cloth does not have enough surface contact to clean effectively. <br><br>When complete. Apply Blue disinfectant to all critical surfaces noted above. Let the disinfectant dwell for 5 minutes before completely removing and wipe shining the surface. This is a temporary extra step we have adopted as part of our ongoing process to combat the threat of Covid-19. While there are indications from reputable health sources that hydrogen peroxide in concentrations similar to our Red heavy-duty cleaner is effective against organisms like Covid-19 until we have confirmation of that we will continue to add this disinfection step.<br><br><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Better Life Maids has a systematic approach to cleaning every room we service.
